Quick Note

Sorry, no card content this time around. I just wanted to say that I tried to send cards to as many people as possible, so check your mailboxes. I apologize for not getting to everyone, but I’ve got y’all written down with your teams and stuff, so maybe in the future.
Two notes:
- Rangers/Adam Graves guy; I just need to grab a bigger padded envelope and I’ll get something out to you.
- Neil or Paul D.: I have Islander to send cards but need an address. First to email me their mailing info gets ‘em.
I hope everyone is as excited as I am about hockey returning. I got my TV turned back on just for the season and after going a few rounds with my cable provider, I’m ready to cheer on my beloved Boston Bruins.

I’m the Rangers/Graves guy. No worries Casey. Send ‘em when you can. And I’ll be getting the NHL Network turned on for the season. I only want the one channel, so I can watch Rangers’ games when they’re not on MSG, as I’m closer to Buffalo than NYC.

RE: Hockey and cable…I am basically paying $90/month for one channel (NESN) to watch the Bruins. It is insane. I’d get the Gamecenter package if they didn’t black out in-market teams (which is RIDICULOUS in this age). I’ve toyed with the idea of hosting my own proxy/IP spoofer to trick it into thinking my IP is from outside the market, but it is just a pain.
Also, is the Bruins-Rangers opener only on the NHL network? And is that the channel formerly called Versus? I JUST WANT TO WATCH MY BRUINS!

As far as I know, the game is on NHL Network. NHL Network and Center Ice are 2 different things. I’m able to get NHL Network(which is only 1 channel), for $5.95(may be $6.95 this season, but I haven’t inquired yet) a month from my cable company(Time Warner). Versus is now NBC Sports Network(I think that’s the correct name. It is NBC though)
I hear ya! Even though we will be rooting for different teams, I’m sure we’re both just as excited to get this season under way!
Now if you cheered for a real team, say Montreal for example. Then your game would be on National television from coast to coast at 5pm mst on Saturday.
Because people want to watch that.
The lesser teams like Boston and Columbus etc… get relegated to one small obscure cable channel.
Just sayin’
I was unaware that the Habs were still in the league; I mean, when I look at the preseason rankings I don’t see them listed but then again, I tend to skip the lower 1/3 of the lists.
