A while ago, Dave over at Wax Stain Rookie busted a box of ITG Decades and pulled a card I wanted, so we worked out a deal. The card in question was this gem…
My goal is to build the Team USA autographed set and Dave was more than willing to help me out in this endeavor. So, I thought we were cool with the deal until I received his package today. Oh sure, the Verchota was in there and that would have been enough. But Dave, the great hockey fan, collector, and generally all-around good dude that he is (like the rest of the hockey bloggers out there) sent along a pile of agitators, hard-nosed players, and straight-up enforcers for my enjoyment. I mean, just check these beauties out…
Thanks a bunch, Dave, these will go right into my enforcer binder!
Fact: Strasburg’s two wins have been against the hapless Pirates and Indians. He out “dueled” some dudes named Jeff Karstens and David Huff, a combined 3-10 at the time.
Fact: Strasburg has a no decision versus the White Sox, whose starter Gavin Floyd was every bit as good as Strasburg during that game. Floyd was 2-7 then.
Fact: Strasburg has lost his last two starts to the Royals and the Braves. He was out pitched by Bryan Bannister and Tim Hudson, both of whom had winning records.
Fact: Strasburg has not beat a team or a pitcher with a winning record.
Fact: Strasburg can not turn water into wine.

Here are a couple of cards I’ve picked up recently:
2004-05 ITG Ultimate Memorabilia Autographs #67 Ted Kennedy /60

Finally, a hard signed Kennedy to replace the sticker one I picked up a bit ago. These cards supposedly come from a never released set from 2000-01. Most of the players are now deceased (Dumart, Brimsek, Horner, etc). I have been told by a collector that they are indeed legit, so I am wrestling with picking some up. They won’t be properly certified, but are still authentic. Anyone have any information to back that up?

2001-02 Topps Archives #17 Darryl Sittler
I got this in a trade with reader and fellow collector Michel. The deal was the Hedman SPA I pulled for this, straight up. I think it’s a great deal for both and I’m extremely happy with this card. I love the Archives autos!
So that’s that and remember, Stephen Strasburg may be the next Sandy Koufax or he may be the next Kerry Wood. Darryl Sittler, on the other hand, is and will always be the next Darryl Sittler.
Also, anyone building the SP Authentic set?
